Wave height overlaid with wind and multiple GRIB display

WindPlot is a simple to use yet powerful GRIB viewer that will display most available GRIB types.  A limited version of WindPlot is available for evaluation or use the full version for a modest registration fee.

The unregistered version of WindPlot displays wind forecast generated by both wwave3 and GFS models. The viewer is compatible with GRIB files generated by GMN (i.e. us), MaxSea, Raytheon, and Saildocs.  As an added bonus satellite tracking software for both Iridium and Globalstar is included as part of the package.  

The registered version supports all the features in the free version and adds the ability to overlay GRIB data in "mix and match fashion".  This powerful feature allows you to display a wave height GRIB overlaid with with wind data, for example. Or you could display wind along with surface pressure.  Registration also removes all advertising, adds a GPS interface, and includes free updates.  WindPlot internet registration sells for $99.95 and for an additional $10 + shipping users can purchase from Xaxero a CD which updates the product to include ocean depth contours.  Xaxero has additional software that will allow the overlay of other weather products with the GMN GRIB files. www.skyeye.co.nz has an example of a satellite image being overlaid with this data. This is a good way to verify that the computer model that generated the GRIB got it right.

Supported GRIB types (available via our WeatherNet product) viewable with  the registered version include:

• Air temperature at 10m

• Height of 500mb pressure contour

• pressure at sea level

• surface currents

• wave swell

• wind wave

• cloud cover

• precipitation

• primary wave

• sea surface temperature

• surface wind at 2m and 10m

• wind at 500 mb

• sub surface temperature to 400 meters

• Ocean subsurface mixed layer height
