Optimizer is a satellite WiFi hotspot and firewall. This little router connects directly to your satellite phone or terminal and broadcasts a WiFi signal that you can then connect to with your computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet.
RedPort Optimizer for Satellite Phone Data
Optimizer is a satellite WiFi hotspot and firewall. Simply connect Optimizer to your satellite phone or broadband terminal and it will create a WiFi hotspot for your computer, tablet or smartphone. - Firewall stops all unwanted data traffic
- Works with XGate for email, web, weather & social media services – with up to 85% savings on satellite airtime
- Track GPS locations from GPS-enabled satellite devices
- Improves performance of virtually all satellite phones and satellite broadband terminals
RedPort Optimizer and XGate satellite email service work together to save you time and money – while connecting you to the people and information you need. Optimizer requires a RedPort-certified data service like XGate in order to work. Learn about XGate here.
RedPort Optimizer creates a handy WiFi hotspot out of your satellite phone connection, allowing you to connect multiple devices (computers, laptops, smartphones and tablets) up to a single hub.
Optimizer’s built-in firewall blocks all traffic except that carried through XGate. This means that once the link is established data flows through the pipe at optimum speeds, giving you the best possible transfer rate. Since nothing traverses the router except XGate email and XWeb compressed web data, unwanted traffic is eliminated. This prevents surprise airtime bills caused by unmonitored and unwanted background computer traffic such as operating system and other software updates.
The RedPort Optimizer requires a subscription to either XGate satellite email or Iridium Mail & Web in order to function.
Optimizer runs on 12V and has an external battery which allows it to be used as a stand alone hotspot in remote locations. At only 4 x 3 inches, RedPort Optimizer is small and light enough to take anywhere.
How RedPort Optimizer Works
Optimizer Satellite Phone WiFi Hotspot and Firewall Solves Satcom Data Problems
RedPort Optimizer Features
Optimizer turns any IP-based satellite data signal into a WiFi hotspot, which means that you to connect to your satphone or terminal with the devices you already own.
Optimizer’s firewall blocks all traffic from going over the line unless it comes from a RedPort service like XGate or XWeb. This speeds up the connection and protects you from unwanted airtime bills.
Optimizer’s built-in WiFi capabilities make it easy to connect all of your favorite devices to one simple hub: Mac, PC, iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod), and Android smartphones and tablets.
With Optimizer you can plug in any GSM USB-modem dongle and connect to any applicable GSM network while still keeping all the optimization, speed, and convenience of Optimizer.

The Optimizer wXa-112 includes an upgraded, fast processor for quick bootups, updates, and more reliability.
“This is the first time ever I’ve been able to get this phone to operate data. The Optimizer is awesome. Thank you.” — Adam Pappas, IsatPhone user
XGate Satellite Data Service
Optimizer requires a subscription to a RedPort-certified data service program like XGate satellite data service in order to establish a connection with a satellite phone or terminal.
RedPort Optimizer Airtime Savings for Satellite Email and Web
Using the RedPort Optimizer with Mac, Windows, or iOS devices accelerates satellite phone data transfers: up to 15-20 times faster for email, and 3-5 times faster for web browsing. Designed explicitly to make the most of the narrowband satellite phones and terminals (like handheld satellite phones), the RedPort Optimizer uses XGate compression data service to automatically dial, start and end data calls, and eliminate the unnecessary demands common with most computing devices, giving you automatic and complete access to the data feed.
RedPort Optimizer Web Features Via XWeb
Perfect for use with satellite broadband terminals and slow WiFi or cellular connections, XWeb accelerates data by a factor of 3 to 5 times, making your connection fast and less expensive. Features include ad removal, pop-up removal, flattening of animated images, and highly efficient compression. Learn about XWeb here.

I have heard (and seen) some horror stories with folks trying to do things another way; those that saw the Optimizer and iPad in operations were more than envious; having a hassle-free email connection once it was up and running is absolutely the only way to go.” — David Vogel, GMN Customer

RedPort Optimizer Compatibility
The router works with virtually all satellite providers and all computer operating systems. And it also works with Beam docking stations and Fleet phones. This means that Mac OS X users can now do data over Beam products, which was previously not possible since Beam does not provide drivers for this platform. * Some Equipment Requires Compatible Serial-USB cable (not included)
