Addvalue FX 150 FleetBroadband Terminal
Addvalue Communications and Inmarsat have combined to bring the newest and most advanced maritime satellite communications technology, FleetBroadband, to small and mid-sized commercial marine, fishing and leisure vessels at price and service levels never before available to this market. The FX 150 is based on the widely used Inmarsat satellite technology and makes it easy to talk, send/receive SMS, access e-mail or browse the internet. With data speeds up to 150 Kbps you can receive full color weather images, navigation charts, or maintenance information. You can talk simultaneously while sending reports, regulatory information, requisitions, or browsing the internet. The FX 150 also includes a GPS receiver and can output NMEA 0183 formatted messages to provide accurate location information to onboard systems. FX 150 FleetBroadband offers several benefits now available in a single solution designed for smaller vessels.
Smaller Vessels, Big Value
The FX 150 FleetBroadband is designed to be a single-user solution for smaller vessels. It provides global, high-quality data (satellite broadband internet) and satellite voice for maritime business, ship operations, or recreational applications. Whether performing necessary marine and vessel business tasks, diagnosing problems with vessel operations or ship networks, or simply browsing the web over your satellite connection, you will find that the FX 150 Fleedbroadband marine terminal offers a complete single solution. The FX 150 Fleetbroadband also features the ability to do voice and data simultaneously over your satellite data connection, allows for IP connection for email and internet/intranet access, has a LAN interface, and runs at up to 150kbps.
Perfect for Satellite Internet and Email
Because the Addvalue FX 150 is a broadband satellite internet terminal, the speeds for data transfer (especially for email) are incredibly fast for marine satellite internet. That being said, you want to protect your wallet by making sure that that “open pipe to the internet” provided by the FX 150 doesn’t completely fry your airtime bill. The best way to do that is to get the WiFi Hotspot and satellite firewall protection offered by Optimizer. Optimizer and XGate work hand-in-hand to deliver amazing compression and satellite optimization to get you connected fast, easily, and for the best price.
Safe In Emergencies
Inmarsat Fleetbroadband broadband satellite data service now features free emergency calling. This service is called 505 Emergency Calling and is now a standard feature on any Fleetbroadband (FB150, FB250, and FB500) unit, anywhere in the world. While this facility is not GMDSS (Global Marine Distress and Safety System) compliant, it is a very useful and free service. Simply dial ‘505’ from the Fleetbroadband unit and you will be immediately connected to one of the three Marine Rescue Co-ordination Centers (MRCC) located around the globe. This is a simple, memorable number to call. Just think “S-O-S” (5-0-5).
