ANTARCTIC CRUISE SHIPS RELY ON IRIDIUM SATELLITE TRACKING

The International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO) has approved a resolution requiring members’ passenger ships to be fitted with Iridium Satellite LLC (Iridium)-based satellite tracking devices that will report their position at least once per hour when cruising in Antarctic waters. Global Marine Networks, an Iridium Value-Added Reseller, is supplying its XTracker(TM) satellite position reporting system for installation on the IAATO vessels. NOBELTEC BUNDLES WEATHERNET WITH ITS ADMIRAL NAVIGATION SUITE

Jeppesen, Inc is now bundling OCENS WeatherNet in their Nobeltec/Admiral Navigation Suite. Nobeltec users can now use Admiral to select a region of the world where they want to acquire weathe, push a button to have WeatherNet seamlessly download GRIB and other selected weather types.
