I
find XGate to be quite helpful in using e-mail over a wi-fi system.
Many times I am anchored a mile or two from a hotspot; Even with a
masthead antenna and a high-power gateway the connection is sometimes
too flaky to support a web mail session. But XGate gets through
just fine, even if the wi-fi is only solid for a few seconds at a time.
